Skin Spots & Discoloration

Colored skin spots, also called pigmented lesions may be present at birth or develop as the skin ages. This unflattering discolouration can occur anywhere on the body including your face, neck, chest, hands and arms. There are many reasons why skin spots or discolouration can happen from sun damage to hormonal fluctuations. At Bense SurgiSpa, we offer a number of treatments for skin spots and discolouration. We use a non-surgical approach for treating spots and sun damage, using powerful light and laser technologies to target unwanted pigment without harming surrounding skin. These treatments are a great way to reduce the signs of aging and help lighten your skin, making it look clearer and younger.

Scarring

Scarring is the process by which wounds are repaired. Damage to the deeper layer of the skin, the dermis, is required to produce a scar. Damage to only the epidermis, the most superficial layer of skin, will not always produce a scar. Scars produce a structural change in the deeper layers of the skin which is perceived as an alteration in the architecture of the normal surface features. It is not just a change in skin color. Most of us have at least one scar on our skin, this can be lighter or darker in colour than our natural skin tone which only emphasises the problem and usually shows up much more on darker skin types. The scar may have been caused by injuries and disorders from burns and cuts, accidents, blemishes, marks or acne. There are now many effective treatments available to treat skin injury and disorders such as: … Continued

Rosacea

Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition primarily of the facial skin, often characterized by facial redness. It affects approximately 45 million people worldwide between the ages of 30-60. It typically begins any time after age 30 as a redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may come and go. In some cases, Rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Rosacea affects mainly the face, the first signs being redness or blushing. Most people with rosacea are Caucasian and have fair skin. Over time, the redness tends to become ruddier, more persistent and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, bumps and pimples often develop, and in severe cases the nose may grow swollen and bumpy from excess tissue. In many Rosacea patients, the eyes are also affected, feeling irritated and appearing watery or bloodshot. Bense SurgiSpa offers a variety of treatments to help … Continued

Inadequate Eye lashes

Clinical studies have demonstrated that a woman’s average lash length, thickness and color start to decrease between her 20’s and 30’s. By the time she is 60, her lashes will be considerably thinner, shorter and lighter in color. Because just like other human body hair, there is some natural shedding of eyelashes as new growth pushes out old eyelashes and replaces the hair which grows along the eyelids. This is a perfectly natural body function. However, there are other reasons why your eyelashes thin or for eyelash loss, such as: age, normal cycle, care or trauma, medical condition, drug interaction.

Facial Volume Loss & Lips

As you grow older, you begin to experience a loss of collagen and facial fat. Collagen is vital because it is the substance produced by your body that keeps your skin looking young and moist. As early as in your 20s the skin’s natural supports begin to break down producing a gradual loss of definition in the cheeks, eye sockets, temples, lips, jawline, and forehead. As facial volume diminishes, the skin will have acquired lines or wrinkles due to collagen and facial fat depletion. There is a hallowing around the eye sockets along with sunken temples, flattened cheeks, and loose skin around the jaw line, better known as jowls. Fine lines appear on the lips and around the nose. Nasolabial folds form around the corners of the nose and mouth and oral commissures develop just beneath the corner of the mouth. The skin appears drier, thinner, and less pliable and … Continued

This blockage is called a ‘Microcomdone.’ If the microcomdone is non-inflamed, they are common skin blemishes called “Comedones” known as whiteheads or blackheads.
